HAVING followed with interest the 'for and against arguments' for the colleges to be relocated in the town centre and the concerns about the possible invasion of students clogging up the town in the lunch time etc, put me in mind of when, as young art student in 1957/8, we were located in the town.
Back in those days the Art School was housed in what is now the Museum building in Riversley Park and we use to all gather at 'De Di's coffee bar at lunch time and in the evenings after the classes we had to compulsory attend with the evening only students - no one seemed to bother about our presence in the town then.
